Card Values in Pyramid Patience
Before learning how to play pyramid game variations, you need to know the mathematical values of the deck. Unlike other solitaire games where you build sequences, here you are doing simple addition:
- Numbered Cards (2-10): Face value.
- Ace: 1
- Jack: 11
- Queen: 12
- King: 13 (Kings are the only cards that can be removed by themselves without a pair!)
Rules & Gameplay
- The Setup: 28 cards are dealt face-up in a staggered triangle shape (the pyramid), consisting of 7 overlapping rows. The remaining cards form the Stock pile.
- Making Matches: You can only select cards that are completely "uncovered" (meaning no other cards are overlapping them). Tap any two uncovered cards that add up to 13 (e.g., an 8 and a 5, or a Jack and a 2) to remove them from the board.
- Using the Stock Pile: If you cannot find a pair totaling 13 on the pyramid, you can flip cards from the Stock pile to find a match.
- Winning the Game: You win the triangle solitaire game when every single card from the pyramid has been successfully paired and removed.
