Play Spider Solitaire Online
Welcome to Spider Solitaire, one of the most popular and challenging two-deck patience games. Your goal is to assemble 13 cards of a suit, in ascending sequence from King down to Ace. Once a full suit is assembled, it automatically moves to the foundations.
How to Play Spider Solitaire
- Building Sequences: You can move a face-up card to any column whose top card is exactly one rank higher (e.g., place a 7 on an 8), regardless of suit or color.
- Moving Stacks: You may only drag a stack of cards if they are all in descending order and of the exact same suit.
- Dealing New Cards: When you run out of moves, click the stock pile in the top-left to deal a new row of 10 cards (one to each column). Note: You cannot deal if any column is completely empty!
- Empty Columns: An empty tableau spot can be filled with any card or valid same-suit sequence.
- Auto-Completion: The moment you complete a perfect King-to-Ace descending sequence of the same suit, the game will automatically clear it from the board. Clear all 8 suits to win!
Choose Your Difficulty
Spider is really three games depending on how many suits you deal in. Each has its own table, its own strategy notes and its own rules walkthrough – start with whichever matches your level:
- Spider Solitaire One Suit – the easy version, played with spades only. The best place to learn runs, empty columns and deal timing.
- Spider Solitaire 2 Suits – the balanced version, spades and hearts. Suit discipline starts to matter.
- Spider Solitaire 4 Suits – the full expert game with all four suits, and one of the hardest solitaires there is.
